August 2011 Newsletter

Greetings! 

NO EXCUSES!

You’ve been doing it for a while now, probably longer than you realize. Again and again, you come up with a reason why you’re going to start working out TOMORROW.

Before you know it, you wake up one morning and you’re 5 lbs, 10 lbs, or 15 lbs heavier than you were a few months ago!

 

Enough is enough. Now is the time to stop making excuses, to stop putting your fitness on hold, and to start working out.

 

Don’t Let Age Get the Upper Hand

With every year that passes, your body conspires to make getting into shape harder. Your metabolism slows down as you age, adding weight that you’ll have a harder time shedding. Your growth hormone production slows down, making it even more of a challenge! What might have been a snap at 20 will take more time and effort at 45.

 

Here’s the good news: You CAN absolutely get fit at ANY age! BUT….the longer you put it off, the harder it will be to make those changes.

 

Your body is more primed to respond to exercise right NOW, than it will be even 6 months from now. And, if you happen to be that 45 year old who starts working out today, know that soon enough you’ll be fitter than a 20 year old who’s sitting around still making excuses!

 

The Chicken or the Egg?

It could be that you’re overweight and think you need to lose a few pounds before you start working out.  So, you’ve decided that you’re going to lose weight by dieting BEFORE you start an exercise program. You’ve even got a list of groceries to restock your fridge and pantry with and to start you on your way.

 

It’s true that watching what you eat is a huge part of a fitter, trimmer life. But studies show that making the switch to healthier eating is easier when you’re already working out regularly.

 

Exercise will cause you to crave healthier foods, encouraging a fit diet to come more naturally, and the pounds to melt off quicker!

 

Laziness Makes You Even More Tired

Maybe you’re waiting around until you feel less exhausted and fatigued by work, family, and everything else that goes on.  Chances are, you will ALWAYS have a ton of things going on that will zap up your energy!

 

Here’s the  good news:  Exercise will INCREASE your energy throughout the day, so you will have more clarity and be able to get more done during your day.

 

 

It’s a Mental Game

Fitness is about being proactive mentally AND physically – putting it off will actually psyche you out!  Adding regular exercise isn’t necessarily easy. But the longer you wait to begin working out regularly, the more insurmountable a challenge it will seem.

 

Stop all the negative thoughts before it starts to impact your drive to workout and live healthier!  The little engine that could, did so because he was already doing.

 

Once YOU make the decision to take hold of your life and lifestyle choices, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving all of your health and fitness needs!

Client of the Month – Curtis Saffian 

Curtis Saffian

 

Curtis joined the Woodall’s Fitness Studio family in March 2011.  “I was feeling out of shape and was 45lbs overweight” Curtis says.  “I kept seeing information about the Studio and heard good things, so I decided to see what it was all about”.

 

Curtis is a General Contractor and Restoration specialist and resides in Clayton.  “It is easy to be distracted from taking care of yourself with a wife, two children under 4 and a more than full time job” says Curtis about his ‘dashboard dining’ regimen that lead him to Woodall’s.

 

In March, Curtis weighed in at 235 lbs and 23.8% body fat.  “Now being in my early 30′s, my goal was to get back in fit active shape and change my eating habits so I can be more active with my family” Curtis said as he committed to a 4 day a week schedule of training at Woodall’s.  Curtis explained “I couldn’t believe that James Woodall was able to fit me in at 6am four days a week for personal training.  With my contractor schedule, I need personal things really early so that I can work and be at home when I need to”.  With this commitment and James’ encouragement, Curtis has achieved RESULTS:  35lbs lost,  overall body fat loss 11.1% and inches lost 3.5!!

 

“I could not be happier to have had such progress in such a short amount of time”!  Curtis says. “Not only have I gotten in better physical condition, but my business has flourished since entering Woodall’s Fitness Studio.  After doing the remodel of the studio and through James, I was able to meet Barbie Tew and join the Mosaic Unlimited Business Alliance which lead to a marketing relationship with Proprietor’s Market and Tara Marley.  These three contacts alone have substantially grown my business in ways I could not have imagined.”  Curtis says that his business has grown so much that his wife Kaley will be quitting her full time job and beginning her own business as a Recreational Cheer Instructor.  Curtis added “I chose Woodall’s Fitness Studio because I heard they were results driven, I can attest that this is completely true and my family is happier than ever”!

 

Curtis Saffian owns SRS Services Restore | Repair | Renovate.  He has a wife Kaley, son Landon 4 and daughter Kaley 3.  Curtis and Kaley are expecting a third child in January 2012.  He is a native of Savannah who has made his home here in North Carolina.  For information on SRS Services you may contact Curtis at 919-665-7214

Be sure to look at the calendar closely and notice all the changes in our line up!

Here are some important items to take note of:

  • We will be offering a new small group on Fridays at 5:30p starting September 2nd.  Reserve your space today!
  • No ZUMBA on Monday 8/29.  We will instead have class that week on Tue. 8/30 at 7:30p.
  • We will be closed at 3p for evening sessions on Tuesday, August 23rd so all trainers can attend their children’s Orientation for the new school year.
  • There are 5 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August, be sure you know your schedule and your training count.
  • Woodall’s is growing!  If you know of a Certified Personal Trainer, please send them our way!
